A Snapshot Backup allows you to instantly capture and quickly restore the complete state of your (dv) Dedicated-Virtual Server at anytime. All backups are automatically stored off of your server to our central backup infrastructure. Unlike traditional backup solutions that focus on copying a specific set of data, Snapshot Backups contain everything on your (dv) including; all of your web application data, email, the Plesk control panel and all of your current Plesk settings, all installed software, Operating System-level configurations and the Operating System itself! The service is integrated into the Virtuozzo PowerPanel permitting server operators to make network backups of their data 24/7. Whether you're tweaking your server for performance, trying out a new development environment, or preparing for disaster recovery, a Snapshot Backup is an indispensable tool when you need it the most.

Can Snapshot Backups be scheduled to run automatically? At this time Snapshot Backups cannot be scheduled to run at regular intervals and must be performed manually from within the Virtuozzo Power Panel. Note: We would suggest performing your backups at off-peak hours since your websites will be temporarily offline during backup operations.
Can I still backup my data without purchasing a Snapshot Backup add-on? Absolutely! There are many ways to backup your data including using the data backup tools already built into the Plesk Control Panel. In addition to the Plesk tools it is also possible to install any other third-party backup solution on your (dv) Server. The Snapshot Backup add-on differs from most backup solutions by offering a convenient, fully integrated solution for quickly capturing the entire state of your (dv) server at any time.
Where are backups stored? Backups made using this add-on are automatically stored to our central backup infrastructure. Having backups stored off your server provides an easy disaster recovery solution.
How much data can I backup? How much storage am I allocated? Each Snapshot Backup includes the amount of disk space equal to your level of service. No matter how much space you use we will have you covered! The storage used by your backups does NOT count against the storage allocated to your (dv) service.
How do I order the backup add-on? Backup add-ons may be added directly through the (mt) AccountCenter and will usually be provisioned within minutes. You may also contact our Sales Department at 877-578-4000 Option 2, or open a support request within the (mt) AccountCenter. Backups added in this manner will generally be activated within 24 hours.
Can I have more than one Snapshot Backup add-on? Absolutely! Another great feature of this technology is the ability to have multiple instances of your server backed up. At any time you can easily restore to any backup you like using the Virtuozzo PowerPanel. Note: Currently you can order up to 5 Backups in your AccountCenter. If I buy the 100 Domain License, does that mean I get 130 domains? No. By purchasing the 100 domain license your Plesk software will be enabled for a TOTAL of 100 domains.
Can I host additional sites without using Plesk - without purchasing an add-on License? Your (dv) Dedicated-Virtual Server comes with the Plesk Control Panel software and a 30-domain license. If you would rather not upgrade your Plesk license, configuring sites manually without Plesk is possible; however this is more suitable for advanced users who know their way around a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment. Additionally, we do offer the option of provisioning your (dv) server without Plesk, contact sales for details.
